2. Cautious optimism - avoid foolhardy risk-taking

3. Problem-commitment - tenacious mental and emotional engagement

4. Social commitment - maintain a deep and abiding commitment to family and friends

5. Challenge - rugged individualism committed to a greater objective

6. Control - emotionally and mentally competent through a flexible explanatory system

7. Knowing when to give up control - let go of things beyond control and move on

i need to prepare for every game like i am going to play so that when I do play, I will be ready.

see the ball as well as possible. after the game, evaluate only how well you saw the ball. In the outfield, lock in on every pitch. evaluate only how well you locked in on every pitch after the game.
Only evaluate your focus and your discipline and your intensity after the game. nothing else.
Feed your mind positive images only and be intense. that is all you need to focus on.
albert pujols like intensity- its the 7th game of the world series.. create your own intensity. get a knack for it.

if you are going to be a big leaguer, you will have to fight for every inch. Focus on seeing the ball a long time and right out of the hand.

get in the zone so that everything else in your life goes away, intense focus on what you are dong, and you don't hear anything
